Trailer kitchen
Sorry, a bit dark. There is a sink, refrigerator, cook top with three burners and a microwave. Chuck is putting red where ever he can (its his favorite) so I had to tell him I was making the cushions and table top another color. I think I would go crazy living in too much red......wait, maybe I already am crazy!
Trailer photos
This is the interior looking back on the benches that can fold out to a large bed. There will be a table in the middle at some point soon.
Took M.E. and Laney to Newport, R.I the other day. A bit steamy but we did manage to get in some shopping ( we can always rally for shopping!) and then out to eat. Drove by all of the mansions and the beautiful ocean views. I was trying to imagine the days when these homes were full of servants and families and this was just their summer home! I'd be happy with one of the carriage houses and a job taking care of the horses.
Tomato Blight!!
A sad day in the green house...all of the tomatoes were looking great, I was even dreading the big harvest when they developed blight and perished! We had to rip them all out and ended up with none! I will never complain again! At least I do not have to make my living off of these plants. I feel sad for the farm families that suffered the same. Tomato prices will no doubt be sky high this fall.

Sno-cone update!!
So we realized that the trailer was not going to be finished by the end of summer and decided not to sweat it. Sal and Michelle at the Back Eddy were kind enough to offer me a space at the outdoor bar on Sunday evenings when we have live music. I could sell my sno-cones and customers could either have rum added or not! Yay! It has been a lot of fun and I practiced using my machine and making syrups. So far have sold out the times I was there. The flavors I made have been: Blackberry-lavender, Peach-mango, Pineapple-coconut, Lime-mint, Ginger Lemonade, Strawberry, and Watermelon-basil. I use just fresh fruit, cane sugar and water. Can't wait to try it in the trailer ( no booze of course!) Hopefully this fall I can try out some fairs. Chuck has done a beautiful job on the trailer and I'll update with some pictures soon. Cheers!
Offerings to John Belushi
I just did a little jig, ok? Others left shells, tickets...I think that is someones undergarments too. All essentials for the after life.
The Sculpture Garden
The Vineyard
Finally got out of town and took the fast ferry to Martha's Vineyard. A bit of an overcast day, so instead of hitting the beach we saw some sights and had some food and drinks. That fast ferry out of New Bedford is the way to go. It has been such a rainy summer and we have been so focused on the sno-cone trailer that we haven't gotten out of our yard much. The Obamas will be coming to town in a week and then of course the crowds will be crazy. Glad we went when we did. We lucked out as Kristina's friend lives there and she let us use her car for a while. We went out to the cliffs and then to see a garden cultivated by a lady named Polly Hill, she grew some unusual specimen trees and shrubs and it is free to walk around her property. We also visited the sculpture garden on the property where Kristina's friend lives, then it was on to John Belushi's grave where I'm sure I secured my place in hell......decided to do an unrehearsed skit and dance in his honor...well, you can see the photo evidence. All in all a nice trip with some great friends.

Dog days of summer
Need I say more? It's hot, humid and not very sunny. A strange summer this year. I have only been to the beach once so far! Most days have been rain or clouds. Even the vegetables are confused..lots of leaves not much fruit.
Renates stand-up garden
Chuck built this fabulous garden table for our elderly neighbor, Renate, she loves to grow things but can no longer bend over to pick and weed. She is so happy with her garden table and we are happy to see her growing her own food. Nothing like it.
Attack of the tomato plants!!
Every year Chuck and Guido plant gobs and gobs of tomato plants that then I have to scramble to can and sauce and pick. They delight in this comedy and come up with new varieties each year and each year I ask them to control their urge to grow massive amounts of things. It all falls on deaf ears, the thrill is in the growing for them...and the eating of course...and the bossing me around to pick! pick! pick!
Beauty all around me
All you have to do sometimes is just look down. Indian Pipes, or cancer plant in the woods near my house. After spotting these beauties we (Toby and me) spotted a coyote! Well Toby sprinted after her and all I could hear was crashing through the woods and then quiet.....soon Toby came dashing back with his hair all up, running figure eights through the woods. Thankfully she was faster then him.

Anthony's Deer
He's still runnin'!
This is a photo of Chuck, his brother Kevin, Kev's daughter Gabriella and the Kenyans who ran in the Beach to Beacon road race up in Freeport Maine. Chuck goes up every year and helps Kevin get the Starbucks to the after party. His reward? A run and then all the lobster he can eat!
